Training
All our coaches are volunteers and, as such, will advise teams of training times once teams are allocated.
Most teams train weekly before or after school in the Primary Pavilion (Big Red Shed) at Matthew Flinders Anglican College.
Training generally will commence at the beginning of March with the season starting at the end of April/ beginning of May. However in order ease scheduling difficulties and facilitate more intra-club interaction between teams some may train together at Fisherman’s Road Netball Courts.
With many teams needing to be scheduled over 2 courts we appreciate being advised if players are definitely unable to train on a certain morning or afternoon (please add this to your EOI). Training is compulsory as it’s important for the development of not only skills but team culture. Our coaches juggle family and work commitments to find a day and time that suits everyone. We fully support our coaches with a “no train, half a game” policy. Therefore please advise the club, your coach or manager as early as possible if attending training will be a problem.
Our club values mutual respect a positive attitude and maximum effort not just on game days but also at training. Your child’s words, behaviour, action and effort and the consequences of those actions are NOT the responsibility of the coach, but of the player. The coach will coach Netball, encourage your child and “flag” any behaviour or attitude issues with parents. It is not the coaches job to fix them.
